Other languages spoken or taught in Spain

Furthermore, we should mention other linguistic enclaves in the Spanish Peninsula: a) Gascón is spoken in the Valley of Arán and in the Catalonian Pyrenees; b)Portuguese in those areas of Castilla-León and Extremadura which border Portugal.

Finally, concerning foreign languages, English is widely taught in Spain (it is the official language of Gibraltar, where Andalusian Spanish is usually spoken at home), as is French, and to a lesser degree, German ans Italian.

The classic languages, Latin and Greek, are also taught in schools. The romanization of the Iberian peninsula introduced, through vernacular Latin, almost all of the Peninsula's languages with exception of Euskera.
