Policies Aimed At Youth:
THE POLICIES FOR YOUTH HAVE CRYSTALIZED IN
THE APPROVAL IN 1991 OF THE INTEGRAL PLAN OF YOUTH (PLAN INTEGRAL DE
JUVENTUD).-
Among the policies aimed at helping young people, initiated in
1983, were the dialogues with youth associations and organizations during
meetings with youth, and the legal establishment of a Council of Spanish
Youth.
The setting up in 1985 of the Institute for Youth and the creation
of a Interministerial Committee for Youth and Infancy permitted the
articulation, firstly on a municipal level and in some Autonomous
Communities, of the Integral Plan for Youth, approved by the Ministers'
Council on November 8, 1991. During a period of four years, over a billion
and a half pesetas will be invested in 244 actions aimed towards fulfilling
34 objectives, withinfive extended areas: education, quality of life, equal
opportunities, participation and association, and international cooperation.
If you need more information about the contents of the Integral Plan
for Youth, please write or call to the Ministry of Social Affairs in
Spain and ask for the booklet: PLAN INTEGRAL DE JUVENTUD. Politicas para
la Generacion de los 90.
