where Spanish is not the official language. They test your ability to read,
write, speak and undestand Spanish.

- * Diploma Básico (high-intermediate level)
- * Diploma Superior (advanced level)

of the language to be able to cope with a range of situations which require
an elementary use of the language.
- The DELE Básico accredits a sufficient knowledge of the
language that allows communication in customary situations of every day
life where specialized use is not required.
- The DELE Superior accredits necessary knowledge of the language
as to allow communication in situations which require an advanced use of
Spanish and knowledge of its cultural background.
- The exam for obtaining the DELE (Inicial, Básico and Superior)
consists of five tests: reading comprehension, writing expression, listening
comprehension, grammar and vocabulary, and oral expression. To obtain the
DELE, the grade "apto" (satisfactory) is required on all the
tests within the same examination period.
In 1995, 11,000 people took the DELE examinations:
- * In 36 different countries
