Welcome to version 2.0 of "Sí, Spain", a revised and improved edition of the very popular interactive information service which was first introduced at the National Capital Freenet (NCF) in Ottawa on May 2, 1994.

The experience gained since its origins and subsequent presentation at the World Wide Web through the Embassy of Spain in Canada has brought the present edition of "Sí, Spain" to life as an expanded interactive information service under the auspices of the General Directorate for Cultural Affairs within the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The current version continues to offer both the interested individual and the communication expert, handy, professional, basic and updated reference information on everyday Spanish life, history, language and culture.

This new edition will be realized progressively. There will be a period of transition during 1997 when all the material will be updated and translated into Spanish, German and French.

"Sí, Spain" 2.0 is intended to be the basis for a future home page common to all Spanish international offices and services abroad, including mainly the environmental, political, cultural and economic activities.

Within the context of our digital society "Sí, Spain" 2.0 strives to be an open, global and interactive system of information and communication in which no copyright is needed--indeed all services are offered with the aim of maximizing the reach of its contents to the largest possible audience. In addition, free links to any other point within the Internet will gladly be provided.

Finally, as in the previous version, each Chapter of "Sí, Spain" 2.0 is rooted in the work of a specialist in the field, supplemented by contributions and data from the respective ministerial and public agencies. We attempt to avoid an overly academic approach, inevitable, however, in some cases.

"Sí, Spain" 2.0 encourages your comments on improving our service. All suggestions can be made to:
